Young carers are often adept at hiding their lifestyles because they fear the
consequences of being ‘exposed’. Many young carers have been described as
‘permanently worried children’ who may seem withdrawn or may experience
behavioural problems.
By turns dramatic, humorous and highly moving, Who Cares Too?
focuses on the lives and motivations of young carers. The play
sensitively explores their emotions, their needs and the occasional
incomprehension and hostility they can face from the outside world.
The performance includes a ‘Hot Seating’ session in which the
audience is encouraged to question and challenge the characters
whilst still ‘in role’ – this is a well proven tool for bringing new insights.
Who Cares Too? is an excellent resource for any organisation
with an interest in this issue.
