A play that explores attitudes towards vulnerable people and the increasingly high-profile issue of the abuse of vulnerable adults
and older people. Abuse can be happening in the most obvious of places and yet often goes undetected.
This play peers into the relationship between two women forced to contend with the health and psychological difficulties of one of them. Seemingly nice people can find themselves in a position where
they are abusing others close to them, be it emotional, financial, physical or any other type of abuse. How can we spot it and stop it?
Interaction through a ‘Hot Seating’ session, in which the audience
is encouraged to question and challenge the characters whilst still
‘in role’, inspires the audience to assess their own assumptions and values. The play also sheds light on the ways in which abuse
occur and shows how potential abusive situations can be spotted
and prevented.
This play is an excellent tool for members of any organisation
working with vulnerable adults or older people.
