We hear a lot about bullies and what they do, but what about the impact of their actions?
‘This short film explores the results of workplace bullying on two people’s lives. It shouldn't happen to anyone… shows how bullying can affect the people on the receiving end and what they try to do to cope with it. X and Y are average people who were just trying to do their jobs, but for one reason or another they became the victims of somebody else’s spite. The film gives the audience the opportunity to hear what effect bullying has on people. Neither of the characters has been physically injured, but the emotional and psychological consequences of the bullying can have a visibly long lasting impact.
‘This is not a film filled with answers. It’s a film designed to engage the audience on an emotional level to help them understand what disrespectful behaviour does to the people receiving it and also to stimulate the audience to do something about it, especially if you’re ‘just a witness’.
‘The two monologues portrayed are actual situations, recreated by actors. It shouldn't happen to anyone… shows how bullying can happen to anyone, at anytime, regardless of their current circumstances. If this began to happen in your organisation what different outcome would you want and do you currently have the procedures in place to ensure it wouldn’t get this bad?
